Research Interests:
Dr. Young’s work has primarily focused on the relational processes that foster “equal partnership” and power sharing, particularly among religious individuals. Within this broader agenda, she has examined fertility and birth control decision-making, as well as relational identity and meaning making. She is especially interested in how devout women make sense of their religious and secular lives, the social or interpersonal forces that function as a moderating or softening influence for men, and how feminist theory does/doesn’t include the lived experiences of people whose primary moral frameworks prioritize connectedness with God and others.
