Scholarships

Several scholarships are awarded each year to students in the Marriage, Family, and Human Development program. Click here to view the list of available scholarships and their descriptions, or see below for scholarship requirements and application instructions.

*Note – Applications for 2008-2009 scholarships must be returned to 2086 JFSB before 5 pm on March 29, 2008.

Scholarship Requirements

Students must register for a minimum of 28 credits during the two semesters covered by a scholarship in order to be eligible unless arrangements have been made previously with the Marriage, Family, and Human Development department.
Applications must be submitted by the deadline for students to be considered for scholarships.
Each scholarship has other, unique requirements for recipients to meet.
Application must be typed.

Application Instructions

Submitting an application online (you must have Microsoft Word and an email program):
1. Download and open the file Scholarship Application.
2. Enter your information directly onto the application.
3. When you are finished with your application, save it with the following convention: LastName_FirstName_Scholarship_Application.doc. For example, if your name were John Smith, you would save your file as "Smith_John_Scholarship_Application.doc".
4. Open your email program and compose a new message to mfhd@byu.edu.
5. Type "MFHD Scholarship Application" in the subject line of your message.
6. Attach your saved application to the message.
7. Send the message.
8. A confirmation e-mail will be sent to you when your application is received.
Submitting an application in person (you can use Microsoft Word or Adobe Reader)
- Microsoft Word method
  1. Download and open the file Scholarship Application.
  2. Use Microsoft Word to open the application.
  3. Enter your information directly onto the application.
  4. When you have completed the application, bring it to 2086 JFSB before the application deadline.
- Adobe Reader method
  1. Download and open the file Scholarship Application.
  2. Use Adobe Reader to open the application.
  3. Print out the application.
  4. Fill out the application (which must be typed).
  5. When you have completed the application, bring it to 2086 JFSB before the application deadline.
