Policy on Sharing Course Materials with Adjunct, Part-Time Faculty, and Graduate Students
Full-time faculty are expected to correlate courses with adjunct faculty (including those at the SL Center), at least to the extent of sharing course objectives, syllabi, reading lists, and texts that are used in the course. Beyond that, it is individual faculty discretion as to whether to share lecture notes, exams, power point slides, etc. Some faculty feel ownership over materials that they have spent years developing. Hence, there may be reluctance by some to share. The one exception to this policy is Family Life 100, where university funds were used in developing materials that are available to all full-time and adjunct instructors.
